Hi, I’m Jonathan, in 2021 I was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. I was told by my doctors, specialists and hospital consultants that there was no cure, no effective treatments, to accept the disabling symptoms I was experiencing as my new life, to sign onto disability benefits and to begin opioid based pharmaceuticals to numb the pain.

I wasn’t ready for this new life of symptoms to be the rest of my life, aged 34. Surely there are others who had recovered from this disease throughout history?  

So I began researching healing methods from around the world and throughout history, modern science, ancient traditions from different cultures, and inspiring true stories from people around the world.

I implemented a variety of ‘alternative’, natural healing methods into my life and I made a full recovery within weeks. Now more than two years after my full recovery, I am in the best shape of my life, both physically and mentally and I am sharing my story. I am not selling a “miracle cure”, claiming I can cure everyone’s myalgic encephalomyelitis, and I do not provide medical advice as I am not a doctor.

There are two things that I wish were available to me upon my diagnosis: information & community. I have detailed all of the information and healing methods that I wish were given to me upon my diagnosis in my book, My Healing Journey. I provide an introduction to the scientific evidence supporting the possible healing effects of behavioural practices including fasting and the process of autophagy, meditation, movement, nutrition, breathwork, cold water therapy and mindset, presented in a way that empowers readers to better understand their human being bodies and how I participated actively to fully recover from myalgic encephalomyelitis.

Healing with JG is the community ecoosystem that I wish was available to me when I needed information and connection. This is a safe, positive space to make meaningful, supportive connections with others enduring the disease and with those who have made a full recovery. Additionally there is so much content to explore, how modern science is beginning to suggest effective healing methods, guided meditations, guided movements, healing recipes, inspirational recovery stories and much more.

Modern scientific research (Cole 2014, Holt-Lunstad 2010), suggests that loneliness and social isolation negatively affect physical health and healing processes, while strong social interconnectedness is associated with improved immune regulation, healthier nervous system function, faster recovery from disease, and increased longevity.Nobody should have to go through living with myalgic encephalomyelitis, on their own feeling misunderstood, isolated and lonely. This is a science-informed healing community built from lived experience & full recovery, sharing what worked for me on my own personal healing journey and supporting you on yours.
